Press Release: Laff Lines

INDUSTRY VETS TEAM UP FOR SERIOUS SILLINESS

Laff Lines Comic Commercials(tm) Brings National Talent to Local Radio Ads

“Funny Makes Munny” is the slogan of LAFF LINES Comic Commercials(tm), a new firm combining the talents of nationally recognized creatives Bob Singleton and Stephen White. Based in the Dallas, TX area, Laff Lines will offer a catalog of comic radio commercials with customization options for individual market use. The spots combine original music, off-the-wall writing, vivid vocal characters, and state-of-the-art production. According to Singleton, “We’re making funny, national caliber advertising affordable for smaller clients.”

Laff Lines initial offerings target broad business categories such as auto dealers, restaurants, general retail, and even funeral pre- planning. “We’re taking comedy into places it hasn’t gone before – like caskets,” laughs White. Each commercial series is easy to buy and customize, and features characters like feisty singing elves, “Rex Roadrash, Radio Stuntman,” and “Bobo the Talking Gorilla.”

Singleton and White bring impressive credentials to the joint venture. Bob Singleton has created broadcast productions recently for TM Century, CNN, Jack FM, Interstate Battery Systems of America, Stephen Arnold Productions, and many others. He is also a Grammy nominated, RIAA multi-platinum award winning composer & producer. Stephen White is an award-winning writer/producer and voice performer with extensive credits in radio, television, stage and feature film. He formerly wrote for the “Morning Punch” syndicated comedy prep service. “We both love comedy and both love radio,” says White. Singleton agrees: “To do Bobo the Talking Gorilla in any other medium would cost a fortune. For radio, all we need is a microphone…and a gorilla who can stick to the script.”

A joint announcement with radio production giant TM Century, Inc. is slated for February 1 at the RAB (Radio Advertising Bureau) Convention in Dallas.
