Channel 4 Dubai – TM Studios Custom

Here are some of the Channel 4 (Dubai) custom cuts that TM Studios produced for Ramadan. Ramadan is a Muslim religious observance that takes place during September.

Featuring an Oud, and sung using the Kissville Boston group, these cuts were commissioned by the station for use during the Ramadan religious festival. There are also versions without the oud that can be used throughout the rest of the year.

This is Channel 4’s first ever custom package, and TM were delighted to work with Neal Bowden on this extremely unique project!

The instrument used on the Ramadan cuts is a tradtional Arabic instrument called an Oud (it wasn’t easy finding one of these in Texas!) but I wanted to localise the package to give it an Arabic feel. The stripped cuts will run throughout the year while the Ramadan versions ran just for September.

As far as we know, we are the only station in the world to commisson a custom package just for Ramadan and TM Studios did a fantastic job on the project. Big thanks must go to Chris and the team at TM for all of their hard work! – Neal Bowden, PD Channel 4 Dubai

These cuts aren’t on the TM website yet, but on Friday WKQK Memphis flipped to a classic hits format and signed on with resings of the Channel 4 custom.
