S2blue Imaging Creates Custom Package For Manx Radio Re-Brand

S2blue Imaging are pleased to announce they have created a new custom imaging package for Manx Radio as part of their re-band.

The new audio identity was designed to build on the last set of imaging jingles produced by S2blue for Manx Radio in 2005, lending a more contemporary sound, both vocally and musically.

The package includes overdubs and vocals recorded at the World Famous Abbey Road Studios in London.

In the two days we spent in Abbey Road’s Studio 2, (where artists of Oasis, U2, Groove Armada, Dido, Dave Gilmore and of course The Beatles have recorded) we recorded vocals from Kim Chandler and string overdubs by members of the BBC Philharmonic, who came to the Manx session direct from playing the Proms at the Albert Hall!

Manx Radio’s Controller of Programmes and Content, Marc Tyley, said, regarding the new package:

S2Blue Custom Imaging Package for Manx Radio Re-brand “Working with S2blue has been absolutely brilliant from the very beginning that we started this new package. We were bouncing ideas backwards and forwards – I knew we wanted to move forward with something that had a real contemporary feel and had a lot of real instruments on it; something with depth; something that was going to take us forward and last.

When it came to recording, the singers were fantastic. All the musicians were absolutely brilliant, the string section perfect in every last detail and they managed to bring every element out and make it shine.

I’ve worked with a lot of different producers and providers of imaging and the relationship that we’ve got here with Steve and Simon and Maurice has been first class. I couldn’t have asked for a better response; the dialogue, the way we worked this package together was brilliant. It’s been an absolute pleasure and I know that it’s going to sound great!”

In addition to the main package S2blue also resung a number of authentic vintage PAMS jingles. These classic jingles are an integral part of the retro Carnaby Street show. The show tranports the listeners back to London in the Swinging 60’s, so the fact the vocals were recorded in Studio 2 at Abbey Road, made famous by The Beatles, has given the show an extra special feel.

Simon Prentice, Managing Director of S2blue, said:

“This has been such an exciting project to work on. We have a great relationship with Manx Radio, having worked closely with them over the past few years.

The new package has a rich and contemporary sound, which will fit in well with the diverse output that Manx
Radio have. We are extremely proud of the package and hope it works well for Manx.”
