David Graupner, of TM Studios, to Retire
Chris Long to assume VP/General Manager Responsibilities
(Dallas) Triton Radio Networks and Dial Global announced today that David Graupner will retire as President of TM Studios, a division of Triton Radio Networks. Graupner will continue to serve as a consultant to Triton and Dial Global’s management team. TM Studios, the leading provider of jingles and imaging to radio worldwide, will be managed by newly named Vice President/General Manager Chris Long.
Mr. Graupner commented “I had been planning this for some time, and now that the transition to Dial Global has been completed, I felt the time was right. The products that TM creates and the organization that creates and sells the product is in great shape, and set for future success. I am very proud of what we have accomplished over the years.”
“TM Studios is one of the most respected suppliers of creative content to radio and the music industry, and David Graupner was in large part responsible for TM’s success” added Spencer Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Triton Radio Networks”.”We wish David well and look forward to continuing our relationship”
From David Graupner’s blog:
I’m sure this will come as a great surprise to many of you, but I wanted to let you know that I will be retiring at the end of this month/week. While this may be a surprise to you, it has been something that I have been contemplating for more than a year.
I’m ready to try my hands at something new, although not competitive with TM or Triton, but most importantly I feel that TM needs some fresh blood at the top. After 13 years you become so close to the trees that you miss the forest.
Meg Whitman, who grew EBay into the powerhouse that it is today, recently stepped down as CEO and commented; “No CEO should stay in the job for more than 10 years. It’s not good for them and it’s not good for the company.”
I will, however, have a continuing relationship with TM/Dial-Global/Triton as a “consultant” and will be available to help in any way that I can.
I’m extremely happy to tell you that Chris Long will be the new VP/GM of TM Studios. Most of you know Chris and know that he is an outstanding guy….a radio guy….and, I believe, a guy that can really help you take TM to the next level.
One of the things we’re trying to accomplish with this is to bring TM closer into the Triton family. So Chris will be working alongside Kirk Stirland, President of The Dial-Global Networks and Chris Corcoran the SVP of sales.
Spencer Brown, Hiram Lazar, Chris Long, Kirk Stirland and myself will all be in the conference room tomorrow at 9am central. I would like you to join us in person, or via teleconference. This will be your first opportunity to ask any questions you might have.
Lastly, I want to personally assure you that I’m leaving you in extremely good hands. David Landau, Ken Williams, Spencer, Hiram Chris and Chris are simply outstanding people in every regard. I can’t think of enough superlatives to toss their way, but the top four would be ‘honest’, ‘ethical’, ‘creative’ and ‘dynamic’.
JingleNews.com wish David all the best in the future, and thank him for all his support over the years.
